A Different Spin on a Newborn Session

Whether this is your first baby or your tenth, one thing remains the same; you have an idea in your mind of what you want your newborn session to look like and the types of images you hope to have in the end. Everyone is different which is what makes doing newborn sessions so great! This is why when you inquire about a newborn session I love to chat on the phone and really hear what you envision so we can customize and get you what your heart is set on! Some want purely lifestyle session where I capture the in-between moments of a family in their home. Some want a mixture of lifestyle and posed. For my family this past weekend they had envisioned outdoor newborn pictures!

An outdoor newborn session is not something I had done before but I loved the idea of it. The fall weather definitely sparked conversations that it might not be a great option to do the session outdoors and the session date had to change a couple times. Thankfully it became unseasonably warm and we were able to do the session as planned!

We headed to Round Hill Park for this session and what a hidden gem! There are little pathways to walk along, barns to explore and even animals for the kids to go see. It was such a great option for this family since they already have a three year old and two year old and if you have ever tried to get kids to sit for pictures for two hours, you know that it is impossible. It is actually impossible to get them to even sit for 15 minutes! I am a big fan of bribes when it comes to little ones and they usually work for at least a handful of pictures. They definitely helped this day! We hopped around the park and took advantage of everything it had to offer. My favorite by far was the barn! The way the light was coming in gave such a beautiful and natural glow to everyone. We ended the session on time and with so many beautiful memories for this family.

I hope you enjoy the Murn Family's sneak peak!
